Laugh Lines, Smile Lines, and Remedies

Smiling frequently is certainly healthy and is considered to be a good thing and for many wonderful reasons.  Smiling is often equated to happiness, compassion, and a "life well lived."  Unfortunately, it can also take a minor toll on our faces.  Over the course of time, smile lines and laugh lines begin to form around the lip and mouth regions and eventually become prominent.  Men and women who begin to notice these fine lines around their lips and mouth are the most eligible candidates for this treatment.  Your Skincare Professional will personally assess your situation and will select a filler that is best suited to treat your condition.  This treatment will refine those stubborn etched-in smile lines and laugh lines as well as vertical lip lines located above and around the lips.    

Below is a listing of injectable treatment options that specifically target laugh lines.  

Juvederm: Juvederm is a collection of hyaluronic acid fillers, which include Juvederm Volbella, Vollure, Voluma, Ultra and Ultra Plus. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in our bodies and helps deliver nutrients to the skin, retain moisture and softness and adds volume. Juvederm is used on different areas of the face to lift cheeks, smooth laugh lines, plump the lips and augment different parts of the face. It can also be used to improve scarring. Results can last anywhere from 6-16 months depending on which product is used. Temporary swelling and bruising can occur. Downtime: None.

Restylane: Similar to Juvederm, Restylane also contains hyaluronic acid. Lyft, Defyne, Refyne and Restylane are used on different areas of the face to lift cheeks, smooth laugh lines, plump the lips and augment different parts of the face, as well as the hands. Restylane can also be used to minimize scarring. Results can last from 6-12 months, depending on which product is used. Temporary swelling and bruising can occur. Downtime: None.

Revanesse Versa: Versa is a hyaluronic acid filler that can help deliver nutrients to the skin and help skin retain moisture and softness. Versa is used on different areas of the face to lift cheeks, smooth laugh lines, plump the lips and augment different parts of the face. It can also be used to reduce scarring. Results can last anywhere from 6-12 months depending on the individual. Temporary swelling and bruising can occur. Downtime: None.

Belotero: Belotero is a hyaluronic acid filler than helps to smooth stubborn etched-in laugh lines, vertical lip lines above and around the lips, and darkness and hollowing under the eyes. It can also be used to reduce scarring.
